7 Countries that Said ‘Adios’ to Fossil Fuels and Run 100% on Clean Energy
There is no such thing as clean coal. This is an argument that global warming sceptics keep on promoting. They say that researches have shown that burning coal does not necessarily have to harm the environment.
This is nothing but political grandstanding. These politicians don’t want to disappoint their base who supports coal and at the same time, they want to appear as if they care about the environment. There are countries around the world that have called this bluff and have decided to say goodbye to coal.
They have started harnessing their natural resources up until they have become dependent on these sources.
No one expects changes overnight. Big countries with large populations don’t have to switch to renewable energy right away. The point is that there should be efforts to move towards that direction and not the other way around.
The problem is that by pushing the idea of clean coal, it becomes a step towards the opposite direction. Coal burning does nothing other than harm the environment. This notion is being promoted because of oil industries that have a deep influence in the government.
Corporations rake billions of dollars each year. Their main priority is to get rich from fossil fuels lying underneath the earth.
