We all know Jim Carey from back when he did “The Mask” , “Ace Ventura” and of course “Dumb & Dumber”! Back then he broke onto the scene like nothing we had seen before!
But.. what a lot of people do not know about Jim Carey is that he was a flat broke, struggling actor that had nothing but his car and his hopes and dreams before he caught his big break. Not only did he catch a break when bursting into Tinsel Town but he set himself a goal that he would receive a check for $10 million for acting within 5 years. Not only did he reach his goal of being paid $10 million for “Dumb and Dumber” but actually made a further $10 million 1 year later earning a cool $20 million for “The Cable Guy”.
How did he do this? He did it by using The Law of Attraction and envisioning how he wanted everything to happen in his life but also believing in himself and that everything would happen the way he wanted it to. Here is how, quoted by Jim Carey himself:
“I would go up on Mulholland drive every night when I was broke and poor and I would visualize having directors interested in me and people that I respected saying “I like your work” and I would visualize things that I wanted coming to me.
I had nothing at that time but it just made me feel better.
At that time all it really was for me was making me feel better, I would drive home and think, “I do have these things, I just don’t have a hold of them yet, but they’re out there.”
“I wrote myself a check for 10 million dollars for acting services rendered and I gave myself 5 years, and I dated it thanksgiving 1995, and I put it in my wallet and it deteriorated and it deteriorated, but then just before thanksgiving 1995 I found out I was going to make 10 million dollars on Dumb and Dumber.”
Carey is an avid believer in The Law of Attraction (LOA) and talks a lot about the energy you put out there and how it has changed his life for the better. See Video Interviews below, very inspiring and hilarious! Enjoy
“As far as I can tell, it’s just about letting the universe know what you want and then working toward it while letting go of how it comes to pass.”
“I really believe in the philosophy that you create your own universe. I’m just trying to create a good one for myself” – Jim Carey
